Statistik Austria’s data shows that exports to Italy remained more or less stable at 650,000 m³ (0.4%). This is in stark contrast to data published by Eurostat.
With 415,000 m³, Germany clearly remains the number two market for Austrian glulam and CLT, and further strengthens its position by importing an additional 12%. At the same time Switzerland, ranked third, bought less, i.e. 140,000 m³ (-11.5%).
Exports to Norway have seen an enormous increase. The country orders mainly CLT in Austria and raised its purchases by more than 200% to 42,000 m³.
In the first eleven months of 2018, Austria thus exported the same volume of glulam and CLT as in the entire previous year. Datacube data also shows that exports have doubled since 2010.
