In light of changes with respect to the competitive situations and of the weakening of formerly strong markets like Russia and Brazil, machine manufacturer Siempelkamp will shift its production abroad increasingly. The production sites in the Czech Republic and China that have been expanded over the past years accelerate the internationalization. Besides, further investments are planned for the Czech plant, to maintain a competitive edge in the long run. The network of the sales and service company has also been enhanced already. Siempelkamp wants to be able to produce closer to the customer - especially China - to strengthen and enhance their position on the market and the technological leadership.
The plant manufacturer confirms that Krefeld will remain the "heart and brain" of the group. The Bad Kreuznach location will be home to a modern center for logistics and service, taking care of the global spare parts supply for Siempelkamp customers. The German sites however will be confronted with a loss of 350 jobs until 2017.
