Between January and July, 9,150 building permits were issued for prefabricated single-family houses (–1.9% compared with the same period last year) in Germany, out of a total of 58,673 new homes (–2%), announced the Federal Association of German prefabricated construction (BDF). "Generally, the building boom on the single-family home sector is slightly cooling", BDF's president Johannes Schwörer said at the annual meeting of the association on October 18 in Dresden/DE. According to a BDF survey, 58% of the prefabricated building manufacturers regard the current economic situation as “good”. 78% of the entrepreneurs interviewed believe that the market situation will remain stable in the coming months.
In 2013, the 45 BDF member businesses generated revenues in the amount of € 1.81 billion. This year, sales should increase to € 1.84 billion (+1.7%), the BDF expects.
