The family-owned and operated company Southeastern Timber Products was established in 1972 and entered into a joint venture with Canadian timber company Tolko in 2018. Now, the sawmill in Ackermann, Mississippi, is to undergo massive expansion. The company will invest US-$120 million in the installation of a new saw line and additional drying kilns as well as in the generous expansion of on-site storage facilities.

With the investment, Southeastern Timber Products’ SYP lumber production is set to more than double to a maximum of 480,000 m³ a year.
