Port of Koper shipped 20% less wood

In an interview with the press spokesperson of Koper, Timber-Online could confirm that only about 800,000 m³ of lumber left the Slovenian port this year.

For comparison's sake: In 2016, 1 million m³ of wood were handled. The reason for this decline are the instable market conditions in North Africa, according to press spokesperson Sebastjan Sik. "We see that more freight is handled in containers - as a result, we offer more container loading services." 70% of the annual wood volume come from Austria.
