Scottish sawmill Adam Wilson is investing in a Valutec timber kiln. Located in the Scottish town of Troon, It will be the British Islands' first timber kiln. In more detail, the kiln is an OTC continuous kiln with a yearly capacity of 50,000 m³. The dryer is equipped with a heat recovery system, pressure frames and Valutec's Valmatics control system. Adam Wilson will use the equipment to dry lumber to a target moisture content of 20%. The launch is scheduled for May 2017.
The plant in Troon was taken over by Irish sawmill group Glennon Brothers in 2013. The production capacity is 140,000 m³/yr.
