Sweden increased its logging volume by 1% to 86 million sm³ last year, reports the Swedish Forestry Agency Skogsstyrelsen. The estimates are based on demands from wood working industries and wood pulp producers. Their outputs are re-calculated to roundwood equivalent level and roundwood exports and business inventories added.
In April, log prices rose by a further €1/m³ in Baden-Württemberg and by €2/m³ in Austria, while the Holzkurier’s survey shows stable prices in Bavaria.
