Downward trend in DACH pellet prices

In Austria, a neutral pellet price (without VAT, transport and handling costs) of €224.3/t is recorded in May. Compared to April, it fell by 1.7% or €3.9/t. In comparison with May 2024, however, it rose by €9.4/t. This year, the Austrian neutral pellet price peaked in March, at €242.1/t. The current price is €17.8/t lower than the peak price.

In Germany, the neutral pellet price rose from €211.2/t in January to €263/t in March, only to fall to €217.9/t in May. Thus, the pellet price decreased by €45.1/t in just two months. Compared to April, it was down by 8% or €19.1/t. Year on year, it was up by €24.7/t.

In Switzerland, the neutral pellet price is at €291/t in May. Month on month, it fell by €28.7/t or 9% (April 2025: €319.7/t). Year on year, it rose by €22.5/t or 8.4% (May 2024: €268.5/t). In Switzerland, the neutral pellet price peaked at €330.5/t in February, which is €39.5/t more than the current price.
