Pellet price €91/t higher than last year

In February, wood pellets cost on average €407.3/t in Austria, i.e. 9.3% or €35/t more than in January.

In February, proPellets Austria reports an end-consumer price of €407.3/t for 6 tons of loose wood pellets. Year on year (February 2025: €313/t), the price has gone up by 30.2% or €91.30/t.

The Austrian pellet price index PPI06 is at 229.06 in February. According to proPellets Austria, heating oil is 29.7% and natural gas is 101.1% more expensive than wood pellets. The average per-delivery fee for blowing in pellets is currently €50.8.

As for bagged pellets, proPellets Austria reports a price of €6.30 per 15-kg bag in February 2026. This corresponds to an increase of 5.8% compared to January and of 20.6% compared to February 2025.

For price for a commercial purchase quantity of 17 t of pellets rose by 9.3% month on month and by as many as 29.3% year on year to €348.7/t in February 2026.
