Swiss pellet price keeps rising

Compared to December 2024, the Swiss pellet price rose by another 3% to CHF 457.1/t (€487.9/t) in January. The price for 3 t of wood pellets has passed the €500/t-mark again.

In December 2024, wood pellets cost CHF 443.5/t (€473.3/t) in Switzerland, as propellets.ch reports. In the same period of the previous year, buyers paid CHF 500.5/t (€475.7/t), which corresponds to a year-on-year decrease of 9%. Compared to the lowest price of 2024, i.e. CHF 395.8/t (€425.1/t) recorded in June, the pellet price increased by 15%.

In January, a month-on-month increase of 3% was also recorded in the price for 3 t of wood pellets. At CHF 471.9/t (€503.6/t), the price has passed the €500/t-mark for the first time since March 2024. The price for the commercial quantity of 17 t also rose by 3%, from CHF 411.6/t in December 2024 to CHF 426/t in January 2025.
