Pellet prices keep rising at the start of the year

In the DACH region, Germany recorded the biggest month-on-month increase in pellet prices at the beginning of this year. Austria, on the other hand, recorded the sharpest drop in prices compared to January 2024.

In January, the neutral pellet price (without VAT, transport and handling costs) is at €244/t in Austria, up by €3/t compared to December 2024 but down by €39/t or 15% compared to January 2024.

In the DACH region, Germany recorded the biggest month-on-month increase, i.e. of €14.2/t. As a result, the neutral pellet price is now at €211/t. In January 2024, the pellet price was still at €225.8/t, which corresponds to a decrease of €14.6/t or 6%.

In Switzerland, a neutral pellet price of €316.2/t is reported for January. Month on month, it rose by €7.6/t. Year on year, however, the pellet price fell by €32.2/t or 9% (January 2024: €348.6/t).
