On February 21, wood pellets cost on average €290.7/t in Germany. Month on month, the pellet price fell by 11%. Year-on-year, it decreased by around 25% or €95.6/t (February 21, 2023: €344.4/t). Three years ago, in 2021, an average pellet price of €369.4/t was recorded in Germany.
As of the middle of week 8 of this year, pellet prices range from €269.6/t in Bavaria to €306/t in Bremen. In Saxony-Anhalt, the pellet price is at the average level of €289.4/t.
Apart from Bavaria, heizpellets24.de reports the lowest pellet prices in Baden-Württemberg (€273.1/t), Thuringia (€276.6/t) and Hesse (€278/t). Prices above the €300/t-mark are recorded not only in Bremen but also in Saarland (€304.2/t), in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (€300.7/t) and in Schleswig-Holstein (€300.3/t). Lower Saxony (€299.6/t), Hamburg (€298/t) and North Rhine-Westphalia (€296.8/t) are slightly below the €300/t-mark.
