At 530,000 m³, Japan imported 20% less lamellar wood than in 2024 with 662,000 m³. This was also below the negative value of previous years of 2023 with 558,000 m³. The ten-year average of glulam and CLT imports is 791,000 m³.
Japan’s lamellar wood imports increased only from Poland, reaching 38,000 m³ (+12 %). All other supplier countries experienced declines. There were declines in Finland (-21%; 218,000 m³), Romania (-48%; 51,000 m³), Russia (-20%; 28,000 m³) and Germany (-19%; 26,000 m³) in particular. Japan amounted to 71,000 m³ of lamellar wood from Austria, 7% less. 88% of imported lamellar wood in Japan comes from Europe.
