Major differences can be observed between the individual foreign markets: According to Statistik Austria, Italy remains the largest importer of Austrian glulam and CLT, with a volume of 465,000 m³ but a year-on-year decrease of 2%. Germany follows in second place with a 10% increase that brings the total volume to 270,000 m³. Exports to Switzerland (90,000 m³) and France (81,000 m³) each decreased by 12%.

Substantial increases were recorded in laminated timber exports Spain (+16% to 79,000 m³) and Slovenia (+16% to 16,000 m³). Meanwhile, shipments to Japan (-19% to 55,000 m³) and Belgium (-19% to 15,000 m³) decreased. Smaller markets such as Great Britain (+2% to 23,000 m³) and the Netherlands (-9% to 14,000 m³) contributed moderately to the overall trend. Exports to the category “Other countries” amounted to 138,000 m³ (+6%).
