The first machine tests began in July. Serial production is scheduled to begin at the end of the year, and the company will start selling LVL under the brand name “TeboLVL”. Thébault primarily processes fir logs for its LVL production.

Finnish manufacturer Raute, Nastola, supplied a large part of the machinery in the new plant. This includes the “R7” peeling machine, which has recently been put into operation. The log lines are from Holtec.

The Thebault Group, which is based in Magné/FR, is building another production facility for LVL panels and beams in Lempdes-sur-Allagnon (56 km south of Clermont-Ferrand/FR). Once it is fully completed, the facility’s production capacity is expected to reach 100,000 m³ a year. 70,000 m³ a year are to be produced in the first phase. The products will have the PEFC, Bois de France, and other international certifications. Silver fir will be used as the raw material.

85 employees will be hired to operate the plant. The investment volume is around €100 million. Part of this sum are state and regional subsidies. The 25,000-m²-site is scheduled to open in 2025.

The Thebault Group already produces LVL products made from okoumé, poplar, and maritime pine at five other sites. Output accounts for approximately 50% of total French production, according to a company press release.
