In January, Austrian glulam and CLT exports totaled 132,000 m³. As figures published by Statistik Austria show, this corresponds to a year-on-year decrease of 2%.

Exports to Italy fell by 4% to 58,000 m³. Nevertheless, this is the second-biggest volume exported to Austria’s neighbor in the south since records began in 1999. Deliveries of laminated timber to Germany increased by 29% or 6,000 m³ compared to January 2024 and totaled 25,000 m³. Meanwhile, exports to Switzerland remained more or less constant (9,7000 m³; +1%).

After a slight increase had been recorded last year, shipments to Japan decreased by around a fifth to 4,800 m³ in January. The same is true for laminated timber exports to France (9,000 m³; -20%), which are now back at 2017 levels.

However, Austria was able to increase its glulam and CLT exports to Spain (9,000 m³; +10%) and Belgium (2,000 m³; +24%). Deliveries to Croatia nearly tripled, reaching a total of 1,400 m³.
