On April 10, the Federation of the European Parquet Industry (FEP) met at the Bauwerk Group in St. Margrethen/CH to discuss market developments. Consistently stable or positive developments can be observed in the individual countries.

In Austria, the market grew by 3% in the first quarter, driven by new construction. In Croatia, rising costs are negatively impacting new construction, but hotel renovations are still supporting the market. In France, a market slump of 15% is reported – new construction is declining, while the renovation segment remains weak. Germany reports slight growth in the parquet market, partly thanks to increasing renovation activity. In Italy, a steady to slightly declining market development can be observed.

Mixed trends are reported from Scandinavia: There was a slight recovery in Norway and Finland, Denmark is stabilizing, and Sweden remains weak. The Spanish parquet market is mostly stable with a slightly positive trend. In Switzerland, too, the market is stable and is following the moderate growth in construction activity.
