Parquet: Bottom reached in 2024

At the FEP’s board meeting, which took place in January at the Bau trade fair in Munich, Federation estimated that total consumption in the European parquet market in 2024 had decreased by around 5% compared to 2023.

This assessment is a preliminary forecast and the result of the best estimates discussed with representatives of the member countries. The FEP emphasizes that the forecast is still subject to fluctuations and that the final data will be presented at the FEP General Assembly in June.

2023 was a difficult year, marked by a dramatic drop in consumption. In 2024, however, the market seems to have bottomed out.

The parquet industry expects an upswing in construction activity during 2025 and, in the short term, much-needed relief provided by the coming into force of provisional anti-dumping measures by the European Commission. These have been in force since January 16 and target imports of multilayer parquet originating in China.

The FEP’s 69th General Assembly and 49th Parquet Congress will be held on June 12 and 13, 2025 in Stockholm. FEP looks forward to welcoming its members, international guests and press representatives to this annual event for the parquet industry.
