From January to October 2024, Italy imported a total of 539,000 m³ of laminated timber, recording a year-on-year increase of around 4%. When you look further back in the timeline, it was the biggest import volume since 2011, according to the Datacube.

Austria was once again the most important supplying country with a trade volume of 458,000 m³ (+7%), followed by Germany (25,000 m³; +20%) and Latvia (12,000 m³; -47%).

As always, the export figures published by Eurostat deviate significantly from Austrian statistics on laminated timber exports. According to Statistik Austria, Austria exported around 600,000 m³ of glulam and CLT to Italy in the first ten months of 2024.
