According to the Austrian Timber Industry Association, the price index for wood chips was at 206.55% in October (base: January 2001 = 100%). Compared to September, a slight increase of 2.53 percentage points was recorded. Since January, the index value has decreased by 30.38 points. Compared to October 2023, it fell by 28.78 points.
A clear upward trend can be observed when it comes to the sawdust price index. It rose by 24.82 points month on month to 380.31% in October. Compared to January (444.23%), however, it fell by 63.92 points. Year on year, there was a massive slump of 184.23 percentage points. In October 2023, the index was still at 564.54%.
