Yesterday, two more subsidiaries of the Ziegler Group, Plößberg/DE, filed for bankruptcy: Ziegler Naturenergie and Holz-Zentrum Ziegler. Volker Böhm from the Nuremberg-based law firm Schultze & Braun remains the insolvency administrator.
Ziegler Naturenergie operates the pellet mill in Pressath/DE with an annual capacity of 250,000 t. The mill, which has 55 employees (as of 2022) and in which around €30 million were invested, was put into operation in 2021.
Holz-Zentrum Ziegler, which is also located in Pressath, is equipped with six planing lines and designed for the production of planed timber for DIY stores and wholesalers. A fire broke out there on Tuesday, November 26, in the afternoon. According to initial reports, a technical defect is believed to be the cause of the fire.
