Glulam and CLT exports increase but remain below average

In the first seven months, Austria substantially increased its glulam and CLT exports by 6% to 1.09 million m³. Nevertheless, the total export volume remains below the five-year average of 1.16 million m³.

Exports to main foreign market Italy increased by 10% to 430,000 m³ and are slightly higher than the five-year average of 420,000 m³.

Sales in Germany, on the other hand, continued their downward trend. With slightly over 200,000 m³, Austrian deliveries remained well below the record year of 2021 (320,000 m³).

A particularly marked increase was recorded in laminated timber exports to Japan (60,000 m³; +40%). Despite this positive development, the export volume is still below the around 80,000 m³, which have been shipped to Japan in the first seven months of previous years.
