Article by Raphael Kerschbaumer (translated by Eva Guzely) | 05.04.2024 - 10:21

Compared to 2022, the number of pallets produced in Germany decreased by around 16%, which is substantially less than in the previous four years. As a result of the lower prices in 2023, the value fell by 37%. In 2022, around €1.69 billion had been generated with the sale of 116 million pallets. Last year, just under 98 million pallets were sold for a total of €1.07 billion.

In 2022, one pallet was sold for an average of €14.6 per piece. Last year, that value was at only €10.9 per pallet.

In the past five years, 2022 marked the absolute record year in terms of revenue, even though slightly more pallets were produced in 2021. In the previous two years, the number of pallets produced was at a similarly high level, however, sales only exceeded the €1-billion-mark in 2021.
