From January to November 2023, Austria exported 1.66 million m³ of glue-laminated and cross-laminated timber, recording a year-on-year decrease of just under 6%.
Austria’s main export markets were its neighboring countries Italy (616,000 m³; -6%) and Germany (366,000 m³; -10%), followed by France (137,000 m³; -8%) and Switzerland (126,000 m³; +8%).
Austrian glued timber exporters recorded a slump in sales on their most important overseas market Japan (72,000 m³; +38%). Shipments to Great Britain, on the other hand, increased by 38%, reaching a total of 32,000 m³.
