Sharp decreases on the parquet markets

In Austria, parquet consumption saw a year-on-year decrease of 25% in the period January to September 2023. In the third quarter, it was down by 20% in Austria. In the Netherlands, a decrease of 25 to 30% was recorded in the first half of 2023. At -30 to -35%, parquet consumption was also much lower in France in the first six months and, for the third quarter, an even clearer downward trend is expected (-35 to -40%).

German parquet consumption fell by 38% year on year in the second quarter. Italy recorded a decrease of 23 to 25% compared to 2022. Sweden’s parquet consumption also plummeted by 36% in the first half-year. Switzerland, too, recorded a year-on-year decrease of 15% in the first six months.
