Month on month, the price of OSB for packaging saw the biggest correction. The further decrease of 6.2 percentage points brings the price index down to 100.3% in August and thus very close the base value of January 2005. For comparison: In January this year, the OSB price index was still at 127.9%.
The German Wood Packaging, Pallet and Export Packaging Association (HPE) identified an index value of 306.9% for solid wood for pallets in August. Compared to July, the price index saw just a slight decrease. Since the beginning of the year, however, it has already lost 30.2 percentage points, which is more than the OSB price index lost.
Solid wood (-2 percentage points) and plywood for packaging (-1 percentage points) also saw a negative development. It has already been half a year since the last time prices increased.
