The member countries of the European Federation of the Parquet Industry (FEP) produced a total of 78 million m² of parquet flooring last year, recording a 4.7% decrease compared to 2021. European production outside of FEP countries amounted to 14.3 million m². The biggest production volumes were reported in Poland (18%), Austria (14%), Sweden (13%) and Germany (9%). In terms of per-capita consumption of parquet, Austria, Switzerland, Estonia, Croatia and Sweden are in the lead. In the entire FEP region, per-capita consumption fell slightly from 0.21 m² a year in 2021 to 0.20 m² a year in 2022.

In the first quarter of 2023, a negative trend has been observed on the European parquet markets. Overall, the FEP expects parquet consumption to decrease by 20 to 30% year on year in the first three months.
