In March, the Austrian sawdust price index fell by another 44.83 percentage points month on month to 506.56% (January 2001 = 100%). Compared to the all-time high of 890.6%, which was reached in October last year, this corresponds to a decrease of 384.04 points. Compared to March 2022 (347.93%), the index value has increased by 158.6 percentage points.
The wood chip price index has seen little change since the start of the year. In January, it had been at 337.57% and in March, it reached 334.52%. Thus, it was only 3.05 percentage points lower than two months before. Compared to the previous record value of 375.61% of December 2022, the wood chip price has decreased by 41.09 points. Year on year, the index value has risen by 154.37 percentage points (March 2022: 108.15%).
