Most of the main export markets received smaller quantities from Germany in the first quarter. For example, decreases were recorded in pallet exports to Switzerland (-9% to 1.14 million pieces), the Netherlands (-33% to 1.13 million pieces) and to Austria (-29% to 96,000 pieces).
As for imports, there have also been decreases in shipments from most of Germany’s main suppliers. Poland, for example, reduced its deliveries by 35% year on year to 4.68 million pieces in the first quarter. Imports from the Czech Republic fell by 22% to 2.53 million pieces, and 1.03 million pallets (-24%) were imported from the Netherlands.
