Kronospan to expand its site in Alabama

On its 460 hectare-big production site in Oxford in the US-state of Alabama, wood-based panel manufacturer Kronospan plans to build a state-of-the-art OSB plant.

The groundbreaking ceremony is to take place later this year. The company is going to invest US-$350 million (€319 million) into the new plant.

This OSB plant is one of several investments made by Kronospan in recent months. According to Kronospan, more than US-$89 million (€81 million) have been invested in the Oxford site over the past six months. Among other things, the existing MDF press was expanded and the production capacity of the chipboard plant was increased.

The site in Oxford is Kronospan’s biggest and most vertically integrated production facility for wood products in North America.
