Hasslacher acquires 40% of Spanish Egoin Wood Group

Hasslacher Group of Sachsenburg acquired a 40% stake in Spanish Egoin Wood Group. The company has more than 30 years of experience in the development of timber construction solutions and is active in Spain, where it operates production sites in Ea/Biskaya and Legutio/Araba, and at a global level.

The Egoin Wood Group has a total production capacity of 22,000 m³ a year (14,000 m³ of cross-laminated and 8,000 m³ of glue-laminated timber year). Once the third cross-laminated timber plant in Legutio goes into operation in mid-2023, the group’s production capacity will reach up to 52,000 m³. The Egoin Wood Group currently employs around 160 people. The start-up of the new cross-laminated timber plant will bring the number of employees to over 200.

“The 40% stake in the Egoin Wood Group is an ideal opportunity for Hasslacher Group to further pursue our expansion strategy, while strengthening our position in Southwest Europe,” Christoph Kulterer, CEO and owner of the Hasslacher Group, explains.
