Decreasing laminated timber exports

Article by Birgit Fingerlos (translated by Eva Guzely) | 10.01.2023 - 08:18

In the first ten months of 2022, Austria exported 1.58 million m³ of laminated timber, recording a 10% decrease compared to the same period of 2021, when exports had totaled 1.78 million m³. Main foreign market Italy received 589,000 m³, i.e. 1.6% less than in the year before. Exports to Germany fell by 16% to 359,000 m³. A downward trend can also be observed in shipments of glulam and CLT to Austria’s other main markets, such as France (134,000 m³; -12%), Switzerland (105,000 m³; -17%) or Japan (103,000 m³; -13%).

Data are collected by Statistik Austria. As always, you can find detailed export figures in our Datacube.
