As local US media report, Canadian company Peak Renewables plans to build a pelleting plant with an annual production capacity of up to 180,000 t right next to Smartlam’s future production facility.

According to Smartlam CEO Derek Rachtford, the future production site in Dothan/Alabama will make his company the biggest manufacturer of glue-laminated timber in North America.

Production is scheduled to start in October 2024. At full capacity, up to 200,000 m³ of glulam beams and columns are to be produced each year.
