Laminated timber exports keep growing

In the first six months, Austrian glulam and CLT exports totaled 1.1 million m³, seeing a 20% increase compared to the same period of last year.

In the first half year, 68% of Austrian laminated timber exports were headed for the three top markets Italy, Germany and France. According to Statistik Austria, 389,000 m³ were sold to Italy (+31%), 275,000 m³ to Germany (+13%) and 92,000 m³ to France (+22%). Exports to Switzerland rose by 4% to 82,000 m³.

Lately, 67,000 m³ a month were exported to Italy and around 55,000 m³ to Germany.

A slight decrease was recorded in laminated timber exports to Japan (70,000 m³; -5%).
