In the group's 19th factory, Egger invested around €440 m. The new location created 400 jobs directly and 600 indirectly. With an annual capacity of up to 650,000 m³ in full operation, the Egger plant in Biskupiec will replace previous particle board imports for Poland – one of the world's biggest furniture producers –, as the company informs.

"I am very proud that we are now taking our Egger plant in Biskupiec into operation and – together with our employees – are becoming one of the most important suppliers for the Polish furniture industry. We have already been active in Poland since the beginning of the 1990ies, and our collaboration spans more than 150 local customers," owner Michael Egger announced. "With this new plant in Biskupiec, we are creating around 1000 jobs which means we directly contribute to the local development of the Warmia-Masuria province. This makes me both happy and proud."

Egger planned and constructed the site in accordance with the BREF (Best Available Technique Reference Document) of the European Union. This means that the best available technologies especially with regards to environmental aspects are utilized. Biskupiec is equipped with ultra-modern facilities based on latest production technology as well as state-of-the-art environmental knowledge. The factory has production lines for raw and coated particle boards, its operation is commencing step by step. Amongst other things, Egger is using a ContiRoll system by Siempelkam from Krefeld/DE. A large part of the produced raw particle boards will receive decorative finishings.
