CLT is changing the lumber markets

Lumber piles in front of BSP productions are getting higher and higher. In 2018, the DACH area (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) as well as Czech Republic and Italy produced around 770,000 m³ of cross-laminated timber (CLT). This means that the output increased by another 13%.

Based on a ratio of 1.25 m³ of lumber input per cubic meter of CLT, producers already required almost 1 million m³ of lumber already last year.

All large producers are also operating sawmills. The change in lumber flows also especially affects other further processors as well as export customers.
