Timber trade revenues +5% so far

Germany's timber trade saw a slight sales increase in September of 1% compared to the previous month. Driving force of this fall were planed goods with a gain of 9% as well as garden timber with a plus of 17%. Lumber kept last year's level while wood materials, floorings and construction elements declined slightly.

In the first nine months of this year, enterprises surveyed in the course of the GD Holz intercompany comparison reported a sales increase of 5%. Similar developments were observed for the assortments construction elements, lumber and wood materials during this period. Planed goods gained 10% for the period of January till September compared to the same period last year. Floorings, on the other hand, only raised sales by 1% and garden timber declined by 1%.

As for the annual report, timber traders mainly predict a stable up to rising development trend. For 2018, GD Holz expects a growth in sales between 3 and 5%.
