Swiss Krono celebrates opening of OSB plant

Last Wednesday, the grand opening of Swiss Krono's new OSB plant in Vásárosnamény/HU took place. Amongst others, the ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Directors and the Swiss Krono Group's top management as well as political representatives.

Interspan, a subsidiary of Swiss Krono, used to produce raw particle boards and surface-finished boards for furniture and interior on these premises. Since June, a Contiroll by Siempelkamp is being used to manufacture OSB boards. The production capacity amounts to 300,000 m³/yr, with an expected export share of about 80%. The OSB boards (OSB bright) are available in three different types and stand out for their high surface quality according to the manufacturer.

The Swiss Krono Group based in Luzern/CH serves as an employer to about 4500 employees and generated revenues totaling CHF 1.8 bn during the business year of 2014/15.
