OSB manufacturer SmartPly Europe, part of Coillte Panel Products (CPP), is currently replacing its multi-daylight system in Waterford/IE. The company has placed an order with Siempelkamp, Krefeld/DE, for a forming and press line including a Contiroll continuous press. In addition, the Germans also deliver materials handling equipment downstream from the resin application system, the cooling and stacking line, a high-stack storage system as well as the cut-to-size and packing line. Siempelkamp will carry out the installation, commissioning and the trial run. The investment will increase the current nominal yearly plant capacity of 350,000 m³, depending on market requirements.

The upgrade of the existing infrastructure at SmartPly's Waterford location is part of a €59 million investment made by CPP. Furthermore, a "Panel Products Innovation Centre" will be developed on the current site. Products from the new line are expected to be available towards the end of 2015.
