With the Valckensteyn project, the city is setting a strong example: For the first time, a residential building constructed entirely in mass timber and dedicated exclusively to affordable rental apartments was built in Rotterdam. Designed by the Powerhouse Company architectural firm on behalf of Woonstad Rotterdam, the project combines 82 apartments with social aspiration, innovative timber construction, and architectural elegance.
