The clay roof tiles are easy to install, hail-resistant, and technologically innovative. Ceiling-height chimney systems can be easily and safely installed using a crane. And the branded roof accessories also excel in the solar power area.
Top quality is key in roof renovations

Renovation plays a particularly important role in timber construction, where roof structures are not only load-bearing but often also elements that create or define spaces. An aging roof not only poses risks in terms of structural safety. It is also an opportunity to improve the value, functionality, and architecture of a building. Modern roof renovations in timber construction are far more than simply replacing tiles. Rather, they are holistic projects that involve structural analyses, energy efficiency, living space expansions, and design upgrades.
Especially with steep roofs, it is worth taking a close look at the potential for expansion. Generously sized skylights or dormers provide more light, air, and space. Their pitch also makes these roofs ideal for solar thermal or photovoltaic systems. To ensure long-term rain-tightness, integrating system-compliant branded accessories is essential.
In Austrian timber construction, natural materials are often preferred. Clay roof tiles from Erlus offer numerous benefits: They are technologically proven and durable, hail resistance certified, and highly raintight. Properly ventilated and neatly installed, they are frost-resistant, low-maintenance, and easily have a lifespan of a century.
Renovations are particularly cost-effective when the tiles blend in with the existing structure. Erlus renovation tiles, such as the Reformpfanne SL, the E58 SL or the Hohlfalz SL, offer flexible installation because they can be adjusted over a wide span. This simplifies the roofing of extensions or of existing buildings with irregular battens. For builders, Erlus’s 30-year material warranty and repurchase guarantee is a real gamechanger, as it provides planning security for installers and end users, even when modifications are made at a much later time.
Chimney systems for timber construction
Erlus’s ceiling-height chimney systems are custom-built for each construction project. The ceiling-height version is available for every chimney type and all diameters – whether it is a single-flue or double-flue chimney, with or without an installation shaft. The chimney is delivered directly to the construction site. The cleaning doors, connection openings, and the cover plate are pre-assembled at the factory. The individual chimney components, ranging from 2.5 to 7.4 m in length, are lifted into the building by crane. The sleeves of the inner pipes are connected by the ceramic fabric seal without the need for an adhesive. This reduces on-site error sources. Erlus chimneys are tested at a distance of 50 mm from highly thermally insulated walls. Installation takes approximately one hour. Erlus ceiling-height chimney systems are therefore the ideal solution for timber construction projects.
