Article by Holzkurier editorial team (translated by Eva Guzely) | 14.11.2022 - 11:14

The seminar is aimed at planners, civil engineers and timber construction enthusiasts who want to establish and develop relevant business relationships within the sector. It is an opportunity to stay up to date with the latest construction trends and technologies on the market.

On the first day of the seminar (November 28), Holzkurier Editor-in-Chief Gerd Ebner will talk about technology in timber construction in the present and future. In this presentation called “Market analysis of timber construction: the current state of technology and future developments”, he will cover developments in the production of mass timber and price trends in comparison with other building materials. He will also give an outlook for 2023 regarding quantities and prices and discuss the political situation in Europe as well as the war in Ukraine and its repercussions on the timber construction sector. Andrea Polastri will focus on the status quo and future developments in fastening technology for timber constructions in earthquake zones. Rothoblaas’s Chiara Santamaria will speak about circular economy in timber constructions.

On the second day, Dr. Roland Maderebner from the University of Innsbruck will hold a presentation on “Hybrid constructions and innovative products for timber construction”, while Philipp Zumbrunnen of British company Eurban will speak about “Wood and BIM: optimizing plans and designs”. Furthermore, the seminar includes presentations on timber constructions with large spans, international logistics on construction sites, the design of wooden bridges (durability, solutions, details about constructions and errors to be avoided) and acoustics in timber construction. Once again, it is possible to combine Rothoblaas’s Mass Timber Seminar with the International Wood Construction Conference in Innsbruck (November 30 to December 2).
