Swiss company Nokera wants to build no fewer than 20,000 wooden housing units a year at four production sites in Germany. Most of the them are to be manufactured in the Green Construction Factory in Möckern near Magdeburg, which is currently under construction. According to Nokera, this will make it the world’s largest manufacturer of wooden apartments and houses.

So far, the company’s factory in Burg, where 4,000 housing units are built each year, is said to be the biggest of this kind in Germany. Nokera had acquired the production site from German company Holzbau Schnoor in 2021.

The production is characterized by the integration of the planning process, the purchase of materials, the manufacturing of the construction elements and the assembly of the building.
