In Germany, the share of prefabricated houses among newly permitted multi-family homes has stabilized at over 5% since last year. This is according to the Federal Association of the German Prefabricated Timber Construction Sector (BDF), Bad Honnef/DE.

From January to September, 14,043 building permits for new multi-family homes were issued in Germany, 728 of which were for prefabricated buildings. The overall market grew by 5.5% compared to the same period of last year, while the prefabricated construction sector recorded a 13.9% increase and thus grew more strongly.

“The strengths of prefabricated construction can be exploited very well not only in the construction of single- and two-family homes, but also in multi-family homes and the non-residential segment,” BDF President Hans Volker Noller says.
