The Austrian timber industry is faced with a difficult combination of a weak construction industry, high costs and an increasing regulatory burden. The focus of the International Timber Day, hosted by the Austrian Timber Industry Association during the International Wood Fair in Klagenfurt/AT, was therefore primarily on the implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), alongside the tense market situation.
