Central European beech sawmills are dissatisfied with the business situation in the spring. Order intake was too low, especially since mid-April. Sales in Europe played almost no role anymore. The crisis in the European furniture industry, especially in Poland, is becoming an issue for an increasing number of beech sawmills. Nevertheless, there were some positive signals from overseas markets up to mid-May. European sawmills specializing in beech squared timber are also satisfied.
