From January to August, Austrian exports of softwood lumber increased by 7% year on year to 4.07 million m³, as figures published by Statistik Austria show. The last times the 4-million-m³-mark was exceeded was in the first eight months of 2019 (4.03 million m³) and 2008 (4.79 million m³), as you can see in the Datacube timeline.

Italy was once again the most important export market with a constant volume of 1.7 million m³, followed by Germany with 690,000 m³ (+34%). Slovenia and Croatia, with their Adriatic ports, received 323,000 m³ (-1%) and 135,000 m³ (+5%) respectively. Shipments to Japan decreased by 13% to 121,000 m³.
