Swedish sawn timber price index falls

The sawn timber price index in Sweden fell in July for the first time in 19 months. In the previous month, there was still a sideways movement.

Statistics Sweden surveyed a sawn timber price index of 156.1% in July (base: 2020 = 100%). Compared to June, this has decreased slightly by 1 percentage point and by 1.2 percentage points compared to May. Since December 2023 (124%), it has risen continuously. In July and August 2024, the pointer value remained unchanged at 142%.
