Increase in beech lumber exports

China, Germany’s main export market, received 98,000 m³ of beech lumber in 2024, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 28% according to figures published by Destatis. 52,000 m³, i.e. 5% more, were shipped to the US, the number two foreign market. An upward trend can also be observed in exports to Poland (34,000 m³; +31%), Mexico (23,000 m³; +19%), France (15,000 m³; +11%), Vietnam (13,000 m³; +132%), Italy (12,000 m³; +10%) and the United Arab Emirates (10,000 m³; +129%).

Beech lumber exports to India (14,000 m³; -13%) and Morocco (9,800 m³; -2%), on the other hand, decreased last year.
