Just over 993,000 m³ of softwood lumber (incl. planed timber) were imported from main supplier Austria. This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 1.7%. Imports from Germany (2nd place) and Finland (3rd place), on the other hand, saw a negative development. In the first five months, Italy received 253,000 m³ (-7%) from Germany and 106,000 m³ (-8%) from Finland.

Smaller volumes were also purchased from the Czech Republic (92,000 m³; -3%), Ukraine (51,000 m³; -7%), Slovakia (49,000 m³; -14%) and Poland (47,000 m³; -33%). Meanwhile, France (37,000 m³; 16%), Switzerland (36,000 m³; +34%), Slovenia (35,000 m³; +2%) and other countries (92,000 m²; +9%) were able to increase their trade volumes.
